The Start
When golden dawn adorns the blushing sky,
And gentle light awakens slumbered earth,
Thy rose unfurls where tender breezes sigh,
And all the world seems newly brought to birth.
Soft petals fall upon this yielding air,
Our whispered vows, we dedicatedly keep.
The lifting song of larks drifts everywhere
And stirs mine quiet heart from dreamless sleep.
In fleeting grace the fragile hours depart
Yet leave traces in thy beauty's borrowed glow
For time inscribes its passage on our heart
And none may halt the course it bestow
So love endures where all things fade away,
A bloom that lingers past the dying day.
